01 · Where it began
It started with my dad.
Bikes — and the sense of freedom that comes with them — have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
My dad has always been involved in cycling. Long before I understood what it meant, I understood how it felt: the open road, the wind, the quiet confidence of going somewhere under your own power.
I always knew I wanted to build something of my own that carried a piece of that forward.

02 · A realization
The Sri Lanka nobody talked about.
While living in the US, the idea slowly became bigger than cycling. Whenever I spoke about Sri Lanka, I realized how many people knew very little about it.
They might have seen a picture of a beach or heard about a famous landmark. But they didn’t know the Sri Lanka I knew —
— the hospitality, and the small moments that make the island so special.
03 · Two friends, one idea
We wanted people to see it the way we do.
My friend Yasantha Marasingha and I began building this idea together. We both wanted more people to know the Sri Lanka we knew — and to experience the island as something deeper than just another place to visit.
We wanted to create something that would encourage people here in the US, and eventually from all over the world, to experience that version of Sri Lanka.
That idea became PedalCity Tours.

04 · What we do today
Bigger than cycling.
It started with cycling, inspired by my dad. It has grown into thoughtfully designed journeys that bring together everything we love about the island.
This is only the beginning.
